LPG loading arms

Loading arms are used in major storage terminals for the connection between tankers and storage. Gas and liquid LPG is tranferred from/to the terminal storage tanks through the arms.
When not in operation, the arm can be folded reducing the space utilization and at the same time the risk of being damage by a truck.

Disengagement box

Safety equipment for gas storage tanks. Disengagement box is designed to mount two or more safety relief valves allowing to remove one valve at a time for calibration and maintenance keeping the tank in operation. In this temporary condition the tank is protected against overpressure through the spare valve in service on the box.
The lateral pin, protected by a steel cover, moves a shutter through the internal channels driving the gas flow toward the selected valve.
The finishing is in galvanised steel.

LPG double decaliter

The double decaliter ( “bombola metrica”) is a master volumetric capacity intended for the metrological verification of volumetric meters installed on LPG dispensers.
The amount of the delivered gas shown on the dispenser is compared with the level achieved in the double decaliter: several test are to be executed in order to reduce the errors due to the muiltiple variable affecting the measure of a volume of gas.

The LPG station must be equipped with a dedicated connection for the double decaliter in order to be able to operate safely.
SGIG has been appointed by Parma Chamber of Commerce (determination N.149 del 26 luglio 2001) as metrical manufacturer, being allowed to build and maintain special double decaliters.

Recovery gas

This equipment is used to recover LPG from vessels or car tanks. The liquid phase is temporary stored in a tank and can be consequently burned or used to supply gas utilities.
Transfer of product is made by a rotating compressor.
Process is completed by pressurization with nitrogen of the degassed tanks.
Interconnection hoses, valves and electrical connections are provided in a preassembled solution on skid, easy to transport and to operate.

Compressor

Gas compressors mountings manufactured by SGIG find the main application in the transfer of gas liquid phase (LPG, propane, butane,ammonia or other industrial gas) from a source tank to a receiving tank. Liquified gas are stored in tanks where liquid and gas phase are present simultaneously. The generation of a differential pressure between the gas phases of two tanks allows the liquid to move from the tank with the higher pressure to the lower one until the pressure is equalized. These compressors are capable to create the required differential pressure between tanks to generate the flow of liquid. A liquid trap is installed in the suction line of the compressor just at the inlet of the compressor with a floating valve : this safety equipment prevents the liquid from entering the compressor generating a potential damage to the mechanics.
The following ancillary equipment can be installed on request :
Liquid high level switch;
min/max pressure switches for LPG;
min pressure pressure switch for oil;
Explosion proof cabinet, ATEX certified.

Speed gas

This equipment is a special accessory installed on the liquid loading pipeline to tanks when the product transfer is made without the connections of the common gas phases (no closed cycle).
It allows to decrease the backpressure from the storage tank by means of the expansion of compressed gas phase from the tank into the liquid phase pipe through a “Venturi” system within the speed gas body.
The expansion of the gas decreases the temperature of the liquid entering the tank determining an overall decrease of the backpressure within the tank.
With the adoption of a speed gas on a tank liquid phase inlet, the overall time needed to complete the transfer of the product is significantly reduced.

Cylinder recovery system

The assembly is intended for the recovery of the residual of LPG liquid phase from cylinder. Typical application is the recovery of overfilled /damaged cylinders rejected from the main production line.
A pneumatic pump sucks the LPG from a manifold under the cylinders fed by gravity. . The maximum number of cylinders that can be processed is 8.

Thermodensimeter GPL

The thermodensimeter is a special instrument used for the determination of the density of LPG. It can be installed on a storage terminal directy connected to the storage tanks. The execution of the test requires a significantly small amount of product.
The measure read from the aerometer installed within the body of the thermodensimeter is used for the determination of the mass weight and the composition of the product (% of butane and propane) which are taken from a dedicated table supplied with the equipment.
If needed, it is possible to provide special aerometers with different ranges. Please contact our technical Department for special applications.

Check valves

Check valves are special devices used to prevent a back flow of product in a pipeline. It is normally used for example ot prevent the outlet of LPG from a tank through the feeding line or the return of product through a pump. The direction of flow is clearly indicated on the valve and must be carefully checked during installation.
The body of this valve is fully machined, (it is not welded) thus resulting in a more robust structure with a lower risk of presence of cracks.

Excess flow valves

The excess flow valve is a safety equipment mainly installed on gas storage tanks which allow to mechanically stop the flow of product if the flow rate exceeds the maximum design value.
The valve shutter is moved into the closing position if the thrust of the liquid becomes high enough to determine the compression of the retaining spring: the thrust is directly proportional to the flow rate or the differential pressure.
Different versions of springs are available, in order to provide different required maximum flow rate , in accordance with the design needs.
The body of this valve is fully machinied, (it is not welded) thus resulting in a more robust structure with a lower risk of presence of cracks.

Break away valves

The break away valve is a safety accessory used on both gas phase and liquid phase lines which, in case of unexpected departure of a truck with hose or loading arm connected, automatically determines the breakage of the body in a specific weakened point. Once broken the main body, two shutters moved by springs determine the interruption of the flow on both sides..
The adoption of this solution prevents major damages to mechanical pipelines and equipment and reduces to a minimum quantity the leak of gas in the environment.
